A 20-mil wear layer is what separates a commercial-rated SPC from the 6 and 12-mil products sold into residential retail. It is the specification to use for multi-family common areas, retail and light commercial.
The stone-plastic composite core is completely waterproof and far more dimensionally stable through temperature swings than WPC, which matters in unconditioned spaces and behind large glazed elevations.
An IXPE acoustic pad is attached at the factory, so no separate underlay is needed and the installed assembly meets typical multi-family IIC requirements.
